OnePlus is set to launch yet another version of devices, this time around it’s coming with the OnePlus 7T Pro and a special edition they made with McLaren.

The OnePlus 7T Pro costs €750 in Europe and the McLaren edition will be €850. The OnePlus 7 Pro is 50 euros cheaper at 700 Euros now, so it’s clear that OnePlus is trying to offer all kinds of different features and new stuff to keep people interested in the platform.

In many ways, the OnePlus 7T Pro is an extension of the 7 Pro with some new things. The looks are identical, and you also have a triple camera setup on the back. The screen size is 6.67 still and the resolution is 3120×1440 pixels. They also kept the in-screen fingerprint scanner and the selfie camera approach. In this case, you have to wonder what really changed if most of the stuff is pretty much the same.

There are changes, these are subtle, however. They put the Snapdragon 855 Plus version here that states it offers extra power, faster battery charging, and the display is 90Hz to deliver smoother scrolling. While the changes are subtle, they actually make sense for this kind of device and you will find them to work super nicely for what it is here.

Even the camera was improved since there are higher quality shots if the light is low and the stabilization is also better here. They even added a macro mode that helps you focus when you keep the camera very close to a subject.

The specs are pretty much similar between the OnePlus 7T Pro and its McLaren Edition. The only change with that special edition is that you get a McLaren-inspired coloring range with orange and black that really impresses right off the bat.

The unit has 256 gigabytes of storage, 8 or 12 gigabytes of RAM, Android 10 out of the box, a Triple camera array in the back, and a 16MP pop-up camera in the front. The battery is 4085mAh, so it’s pretty impressive for what it is.

The question is, should you upgrade to this if you come from the OnePlus 7 Pro?

Not really, as the changes are minimal to this new version. Granted, they are exciting and have a better refresh rate for the device, or improved camera stabilization might be a good idea. But it’s still a very good phone, to be honest, and the OnePlus 7T Pro offers minimal improvements.

But if you have an Android phone that’s more than 1 year old or the OnePlus 6 (or earlier), then the upgrade is easy to feel. The performance of this phone is amazing and they do an amazing job with the new improvements.

It is safe to say that the OnePlus 7T Pro is one of the top phones on the market right now and you should totally give it a shot. It’s well worth the purchase, especially when it’s cheaper than other top-tier phones.
