The Nintendo Switch Lite is a new gaming console focused on making the Nintendo Switch even more portable and appealing.
The new unit makes the joy-cons a part of the unit and while it’s only fully portable and not something you can add on a stand, it’s still amazing in its own right and very immersive.
There’s No Dock Anymore
That can be a dealbreaker if you want the Nintendo Switch Lite. It’s a really good unit either way and you will find it super impressive and interesting at the same time.
The unit costs $100 less, at $199 you are getting almost the same hardware but a few changes to make it less appealing than the regular one. Granted, if you just want to play on the go and have fun with it, the Nintendo Switch Lite is what you need.
Of course, the older brother is more focused on scale and gameplay, but if you don’t care about having the game on TV and you just want the handheld experience, this is what you really need in the end.
The directional pad is working better now that everything is a part of the unit. That actually improves a lot on the regular Nintendo Switch that has pad problems despite being a lot more expensive.
Granted, it has no kickstand, so for a lot of people, the value drops in that situation. And some games aren’t compatible out of the box, which is an obvious bummer. But if you get past that you will see a really solid unit with plenty of amazing features that you do not want to miss at all.
Do you really need to connect it to a TV? That’s up to you if you want that you can go with the normal Nintendo Switch. Otherwise, the Nintendo Switch Lite is here for the full portability that you need.
Better Battery Life
The design makes it smaller and more portable since the display is 5.5 inches instead of 6.2 inches. On top of that, it’s really light at 0.61 pounds, so they really wanted to go for something simpler and more convenient.
Battery life is very good here, you can get up to 7 hours at times, but 5 hours of battery life are normal. It won’t take a whole lot of time to charge, so for the most part it will be a very good experience and the results themselves will be particularly impressive.
One thing is certain, the Nintendo Switch Lite stands out as a great tool of its era and a really high-quality piece with plenty of incredible features. If you are very passionate about high-quality stuff, then you have to give it a try yourself and just enjoy it.
The Nintendo Switch Lite is designed to be a more portable version, but it’s also super enjoyable to use and it does bring in front some great ideas to it.
If you like to just play games on your own and have fun, this console delivers and while it’s not as powerful as the regular Switch, it still holds its own.
